Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 2 medium zucchinis, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  3. Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until medium-rare, adjusting the time based on thickness. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil.
  4. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil if needed, then add sliced zucchini. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until tender but crisp.
  5. Reduce heat to low, add butter and minced garlic into the skillet. Stir until melted and fragrant (about 1 minute).
  6. Return the steak to the skillet, spoon garlic butter over it and zucchini, cooking together for an additional minute before serving.
