- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a springform pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and add eggs one at a time. Mix in buttermilk and vanilla.
- Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until smooth. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese until fluffy, mix in sugar and vanilla. Slice the cooled cake horizontally; spread half the filling on one layer, top with the second layer and spread remaining filling.
- Garnish with sliced strawberries and chill for at least two hours before serving.
