Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Wash, peel, and thinly slice the potatoes for even cooking.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish, then sprinkle with half of the minced garlic and half of the Gruyere cheese. Repeat the layers.
- Pour heavy cream evenly over the layered potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
