  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ cups grated aged Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Wash, peel, and thinly slice the potatoes for even cooking.
  3. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish, then sprinkle with half of the minced garlic and half of the Gruyere cheese. Repeat the layers.
  4. Pour heavy cream evenly over the layered potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.
