- 2 large eggs, room temperature

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp butter with ½ cup brown sugar until bubbly. Remove from heat.
- Arrange pear slices in the pan and pour the butter-sugar mixture over them.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together remaining butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour batter over pears and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly before flipping onto a serving plate.
