Description

Indulge in the rich flavors of Irresistible Tandoori Chicken—a mouthwatering dish that combines tender, marinated chicken with a smoky, spiced aroma. This vibrant meal is perfect for gatherings and will leave everyone at the table craving more. With a blend of yogurt, spices, and zesty lemon juice, every bite offers a delightful explosion of taste that transports you to culinary bliss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs bone-in chicken pieces (thighs or drumsticks)
  • 1 cup plain full-fat yogurt
  • 3 tbsp tandoori masala
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tbsp garlic-ginger paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter (for sauce)
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro (chopped)

Instructions

  1. 1. Marinate the chicken: In a large bowl, mix the yogurt, tandoori masala, lemon juice, garlic-ginger paste, salt, and pepper. Add chicken pieces, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. 2. Preheat your oven: Set it to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top if available.
  3. 3. Prepare for baking: Remove marinated chicken from the fridge and shake off excess marinade (do not wipe off completely). Arrange chicken on the wire rack or directly on the baking sheet.
  4. 4. Bake: Cook in the preheated oven for about 30–35 minutes until juices run clear. Optionally, broil for an additional few minutes for charred edges.
  5. 5. Make the sauce: While chicken is baking, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in chopped cilantro and season with salt to taste.
  6. 6. Serve: Drizzle sauce over baked chicken before serving for that perfect finishing touch.

Keywords: For extra spice, add cayenne pepper to the marinade. Allowing the chicken to rest for five minutes after baking helps redistribute juices for maximum flavor.
