  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Slice flank steak against the grain. Marinate in soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch for about 15 minutes.
  2. Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes; transfer to an ice bath.
  3. Heat wok over high heat; add vegetable oil.
  4. Sear beef for about 2 minutes without stirring until browned; toss occasionally until cooked through.
  5. Add blanched broccoli, remaining garlic and ginger; stir-fry for another minute.
  6. Mix brown sugar with cornstarch; add to stir-fry along with sesame oil. Stir until glossy.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
