Perfect for breakfast or as a comforting snack, this homemade bread promises to bring joy and satisfaction with every slice. Enjoy it fresh from the oven, toasted with butter, or drizzled with icing for an indulgent twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (unbleached)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add melted butter, sugar, salt, and half the flour; mix until combined.
  2. Gradually add remaining flour while kneading on a floured surface for 8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl; cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  3. For the filling, mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  4. Punch down risen dough; roll out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread softened butter on top and sprinkle with cinnamon filling.
  5. Roll tightly into a log shape, pinch seams to seal, and place seam-side down in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
