Description

Indulge in a mouthwatering Patty Melt on Garlic Herb Toasted Sourdough, where juicy ground beef meets melted Swiss cheese, all enveloped in aromatic garlic herb-infused sourdough. This comfort food classic is perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings, delivering a delightful crunch and rich flavors that will have everyone asking for more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 slices sourdough bread (thick cut)
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley or basil, chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of each sourdough slice. In a bowl, combine minced garlic and chopped herbs; spread on the unbuttered side of each slice.
  2. Season ground beef with salt and pepper; shape into 4 patties slightly larger than the bread.
  3. Cook patties in the skillet for 4-5 minutes per side until browned and at an internal temperature of 160°F. Add Swiss cheese during the last minute to melt.
  4. Assemble by placing a patty with melted cheese on one herb-side up slice of sourdough, topping it with another slice (buttered side out).
  5. Grill sandwiches in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Serve hot.
